1.Draw the Context Diagram
It is a diagram or a model that defines the boundaries and interfaces of the proposed system. It identifies the entities which interact with the proposed system from outside.
2.Develop Prototypes (Optional)
Prototypes are the raw models created before the development of the actual software. It contains limited software requirements that have to be developed in the actual software. It is built to analyze the issues that might occur in the future to the actual software development.
3.Model the Requirements
It consists of a graphical representation of data entities and relationships between them including Data Flow Diagrams, Entity-Relationship Diagrams, etc. These representations help to find incorrect, incomplete, inconsistent, and missing data.
4.Finalise the requirements
After modeling the requirements, the inconsistencies and ambiguities are identified and corrected. Then the fully analyzed data are documented in a prescribed format.
The identified information or requirements gathered and analyzed are documented, named as SRS document (Software Requirement Specification). SRS document is written using end-used terminologies. This helps in narrowing the gap between the development team as well as the customers.SRS helps to analyze the documents for any future disrupts caused by the customers and developers.
